I like the idea of blogging in education for two uses.
One students can make a blog with multimedia representations for any project.
They can show their website sources, making it easier for the teacher to check if they are quality sites.
Students can also document their learning over time by using their blog as a KWL. Document what they think they know, in a casual format. What they want to know. And then what they are learning on their journey.
Second
Teachers can make a blog directing students to websites, displaying images and asking for comments.

Annotated images could be great for biology (microscope images, dissections etc.)
